Our school operates under the guidance of the board of directors, and every month, on the first Monday at 6:00 PM, we hold meetings to discuss matters with our administrative team. We invite parents to attend all open session meetings.

Should a parent wish to address a matter with the board, they are encouraged to do so only after following our Matthew 18 Principle found in our handbook. To be included in the agenda, parents can simply email jstokes@ucawarriors.com.

Fishing for Funds FAQ’s

What is Fishing for Funds?
Fishing for Funds is a family fundraiser event. 2 adults per student are welcome to attend. Mr. Ted Davis allows us to come fish at his fish farm and then makes a donation to UCA from the proceeds of the fish that we catch.

Where does the event take place?
Fishing for Funds takes place at White Rock Fish Farm located at 696 Wilmar Road, Vanceboro.

What is the date of the event?
The event will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024.

What are the times of the event?
Fishing starts at 9am and ends at 11:30am.

Is this a regular school day?
No. We will not be taking attendance on this day and no one will report to school.

Is a permission slip required for this event?
No. Each student will be under the supervision of their parent or adult that attends with them, a permission slip is not required.

Does a parent or adult have to attend with every student?
Yes. Each student may have up to 2 adults attend with them.

Are preschoolers included in this event?
Yes, we welcome preschoolers to attend with an adult.

Does my child have to come to school first?
No. The school will not be open. Everyone will meet at the farm.

Does my child have to come back to UCA after the event?
No. The school will not be open. Once you are done fishing, your child is free to leave with the adult they came with.

Is afterschool open on this day?
No. The school is not open on this day; therefore, afterschool is not open.

Do we need to bring any supplies to the fish farm?
Yes. You will need a fishing pole with a heavy duty line. You will also need to bring soft bait with lead tips. You may want to pack a drink and snack for yourself and your child.
